Lesson 2: Adding Pages and Content

Now that you have Joomla installed, if you go ahead and visit your site, it should look like this. So while your site is now up and functional, it's obviously

a) completely empty,

b) sporting a Joomla logo where your logo should be, and

c) using the default Joomla template (a decent template, but unlikely to be exactly what you're looking for).

Let's take care of those issues one-by-one. First, adding content to your Home Page:

With Joomla, adding content to your home page is quite easy. We'll simply create a new "article" and publish it to your front page. While we're at it, we should probably give your home page a name other than simply "Home."

Adding New Pages to Your Site

Now that your home page is looking a little better, let's work on adding some more pages to your site.

  2. Add a link to the article in your main menu.
