Joomla Made Simple

How to Upload and Install a Template

Notes on the Video

  • You'll notice in the video that once the new template is installed, the site name appears at the top of each page to the left of the stock photo. Of course, "Example Joomla Site" doesn't look terribly professional, so we would want to go ahead and change the site name. This can be done by mousing over "Site" then choosing "Global Configuration" and entering the new name for the site. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like afterwards.
  • At the end of the video, I bring up the point that it's possible for your modules to disappear when you activate a new template. If they do, it simply means that your new template has different names for module positions than your old template and that the missing modules are currently set to a position that doesn't exist in your new template. To fix this, just go to Module Manager, and open up the module(s) in question, and try setting them to different module positions until they reappear where you want them.
